Who these terms are with
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and Ribbons’ developer—the person or business identified as the seller on Ribbons’ App Store listing (“Ribbons”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). Apple is not a party to these Terms.
By downloading, subscribing to, or using Ribbons, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Ribbons. If you are not old enough to enter into this agreement where you live, a parent or guardian must agree for you.
What Ribbons does
Ribbons is a personal app for saving and finding text, images, web links, and PDFs. It can organise items into Drawers, search saved content—including text recognised in supported images and PDFs—and sync supported data between your Apple devices with iCloud. Ribbons can also let you share selected Drawers with people you invite.
Ribbons processes search indexes and supported text recognition on your device. Saved content is stored locally and, when iCloud sync is enabled, in your iCloud account. Ribbons does not upload content from your Ribbons to a Ribbons-operated content server.
Your account and Apple services
Saving to Ribbons does not require a separate Ribbons account. An optional Ribbons account, created with Sign in with Apple, is used for referrals, rewards, account recovery between supported devices, and linking subscription status. You are responsible for protecting your Apple Account and device access.
iCloud, CloudKit, Sign in with Apple, the App Store, StoreKit, Siri, and Shortcuts are operated by Apple and are subject to Apple’s own terms and policies. You need a compatible Apple device and may need an active iCloud account, available iCloud storage, and an internet connection for sync, sharing, purchase verification, and some previews. Ribbons can continue to save locally when iCloud is temporarily unavailable, but sync and sharing may be delayed.
You can choose to use supported Ribbons actions through Siri and Shortcuts to save, find, open, or copy content. Availability and voice recognition depend on your device, operating system, language, settings, and Apple’s services, and may require an internet connection. Ribbons does not guarantee that Siri will recognise every phrase or that every action is available on every device. Data handling for these interactions is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Your content and Shared Drawers
You keep ownership of content you save in Ribbons. You give Ribbons only the limited permission needed to store, process, display, sync, and share that content at your direction. You must have the right to save and share the content you add.
If you create or join a Shared Drawer, its content is made available through Apple’s CloudKit sharing system to the people with access. Depending on the permission selected, participants may view, add, edit, copy, or remove shared content. Do not put information in a Shared Drawer unless you are comfortable sharing it with every participant. A participant may keep a copy after you remove the item or end the share.
Ribbons Pro subscriptions and the free trial
The three-day trial is completely free. If Apple shows that your Apple Account is eligible and you start the trial, there is no charge when the trial begins. When the three days end, Apple will charge the price shown for the monthly or annual plan you selected unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
Ribbons Pro is offered as an auto-renewing monthly or annual subscription. The exact price, currency, trial eligibility, billing period, taxes, and any offer terms shown in the App Store purchase sheet when you subscribe control your purchase. Offers may not be available to every person or Apple Account.
- Payment is handled by Apple and charged to the payment method on your Apple Account.
- After a free trial or paid period, the subscription renews automatically for the same period until cancelled.
- You can manage or cancel in your Apple Account subscription settings. To avoid a trial charge, Apple says to cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
- Deleting Ribbons or deleting an optional Ribbons account does not cancel an App Store subscription.
- Refunds and billing disputes are handled by Apple under its applicable App Store terms and local law.
- You can use Restore Purchases to ask Apple and RevenueCat to verify an existing entitlement.
Cancelling stops future renewal but normally leaves access active until the end of the current paid period. When Ribbons Pro access ends, paid features may become unavailable. Ribbons does not delete content saved locally or in your private iCloud solely because a subscription expires, although you may need an active subscription to access Ribbons’ paid functionality.
You can manage your subscription using Apple’s subscription settings.
Referrals and rewards
Ribbons may offer referral links, shared-invitation attribution, or subscription rewards. Referral progress and rewards are personal, have no cash value, cannot be sold or transferred, and may be subject to additional terms shown in the app. A trial start alone does not count as a paid referral conversion.
We may refuse, reverse, or remove a referral or unredeemed reward where a purchase is refunded, eligibility cannot be verified, or we reasonably believe there has been fraud, abuse, self-referral, or an attempt to manipulate the programme. We may change or end a referral programme, but will not intentionally take away a reward already validly redeemed through Apple.
Acceptable use
You must not use Ribbons to:
- break the law or infringe another person’s rights;
- store or share malware, abusive material, or content that exploits or harms children;
- access another person’s account, Ribbons, or Shared Drawer without permission;
- interfere with Ribbons, iCloud, referral systems, subscription verification, or security controls; or
- reverse engineer or redistribute Ribbons except where applicable law expressly permits it.
Links, previews, and third-party services
When you save or open a link, Ribbons may contact the linked website or a relevant provider such as Apple Maps, Apple Music, YouTube, TikTok, or X to resolve the link, fetch a preview, or display embedded content. Those services are operated by third parties and their terms and privacy policies apply. Ribbons does not control their content, availability, or security.
Ribbons’ ownership
Ribbons, including its software, design, branding, and original materials, is owned by its developer and licensors. Subject to these Terms, we give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Ribbons on compatible Apple devices for your own lawful purposes.
Availability, changes, and data safety
We work to keep Ribbons reliable, but do not promise that every feature will always be available or error-free. Device failures, iCloud outages, full iCloud storage, account changes, deleted shares, network problems, or third-party changes can interrupt sync and access. Keep separate copies of information you cannot afford to lose.
We may update, add, or remove features to improve Ribbons, meet legal requirements, protect users, or maintain compatibility. We will not remove rights you have already paid for during an active subscription period except where required for security, law, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Suspension and ending use
You can stop using Ribbons at any time. We may suspend optional account or referral access where reasonably necessary to protect Ribbons, users, or third parties, or where these Terms are seriously breached.
Deleting your Ribbons account removes the account, sessions, referral history, and rewards linked to it, subject to the limited anonymised referral record described in the Privacy Policy. It does not delete your local or iCloud Ribbons and does not cancel your App Store subscription. You must cancel that separately with Apple.
Warranties and liability
Ribbons is provided with reasonable care and skill. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we do not give warranties beyond those stated in these Terms, and we are not responsible for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control, third-party services, or your failure to keep appropriate backups.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights available where you live.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when Ribbons, the law, or our service providers change. We will post the new date on this page and, for a material change, provide notice in Ribbons or by another reasonable method. Changes do not retroactively alter a completed purchase.
Contact and applicable law
For questions about these Terms, use our support page. The mandatory consumer laws and courts that apply where you live continue to apply. Your App Store purchase is also governed by the Apple Media Services terms for your country or region.
